Interesting Facts
- The pineapple develops without pollination and is therefore a false fruit. The first year the pineapple plant gives one large fruit on the main stem and a smaller fruit on a side stem the second year, after which the plant is normally removed.
- The pineapple's scales tell us about its characteristics. The more marked the relief, the stronger the taste; the less marked the relief, the weaker the characteristic taste but the sweeter and juicier the flesh.
