The thing I love the most about working at E.E. & Brian Smith is the variety.

We work with such a diverse range of ingredients and wonderful suppliers, life at E.E. & Brian Smith is never dull!

When I’m not rabbiting on the phone about fruit, I am lucky enough to visit our top quality processors all around the world, learning about their capabilities.

Away from office, I am lucky enough to have a pear of lovely daughters, who are mischievous little pickles.

They are always up to various capers but am very grape-ful to have them in my life! They are the apple-of-my-eye…

I joined E.E & Brian Smith back in 2019, when the world was a very different place. But what’s stayed the same throughout is the buoyant, positive and energetic team around me.

Now, a Senior Account Manager within the Commercial team, I look after accounts of all kinds and get to source products from all over the globe. The insight this company allows me on things like raw material cultivation & harvest; how local & global economy effect price/availability and the hurdles of moving, exporting & importing goods is second to none. And yes, after almost 7 years at the company, I am still managing my weekly 5-a-side football!

I’m thrilled to be part of the EEBS family as an Account Manager since August 2023. From day one, I’ve been amazed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere within the team. It’s inspiring to see colleagues with diverse professional backgrounds coming together, always ready to lend a hand to a newcomer like myself.

With a background deeply rooted in the flavours industry, I am now eager to broaden my horizons and skills with such an innovative and dynamic company like EEBS.

Outside of work, I find solace in tending to my garden and embarking on new adventures, exploring new places.

My career with E.E. & Brian Smith started as an ‘office junior’ at sweet seventeen way back in 1983.

I started at the bottom and worked my way up, learning all aspects of the business, then deciding on my career path and rose to my position in charge of the Shipping and Logistics Team for the Company. Being the longest serving employee I have seen many changes over the decades – telex to fax to emails, manual systems (pen and quill) to computers, declarations to customs every night, then becoming part of the EU (with no declarations) and then coming full circle again with Brexit and back to customs declarations on every import into the UK.

It still only seems like yesterday that I was young, free, single, opinionated, headstrong and with an emphasis that everything must be done right.  These values I stand by and insist be carried on today with my superb team ensuring all our customer needs are handled with love and care and delivered as quickly as possible from wherever around the world.

I am fortunate enough that my husband and children accept that E.E. & Brian Smith is part of my extended family and they have grown to love some of the team having known some of them for 25 years or more themselves.  We have a history with a select few suppliers, customers and service suppliers for over 40 years all of which we have ‘grown and nurtured’ together making one big extended happy family which is what E.E. & Brian Smith is all about.

I take pride in that I have been a part of the making of what the company is today, strong and successful and leaders in our industry.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be a member of the team for over 10 years, I’ve been promised parole but no news just yet. The company has helped me to grow professionally almost as fast as my hairline has receded.

The office is idyllically placed in the countryside, and the wildlife and surrounding views are a photographers dream. I’m often caught holding up traffic on the country lanes around the office trying to capture wildlife or a landscape.

I love that we sell such a wide variety of products which is constantly expanding my knowledge. Seeing products in retail that we supply for is a lovely feeling, even if it makes me spend more than I intended to.

I’m a huge sports enthusiast, especially football, rugby, and cricket.
