World Lemon Day – 29th August

Bright, fresh and incredibly versatile, lemons are one of those ingredients that find their way into so many parts of the food industry.
From juices and drinks to sauces, dressings, desserts and preserves, lemons bring flavour to a huge range of products. But, as with all fresh produce, there’s more to the story than what we see on the shelf.

Lemon production depends on healthy soils, reliable water supplies, suitable growing conditions and the people who work hard to produce and move the fruit around the world. With changing weather patterns and increasing environmental pressures, protecting these resources is becoming more important than ever.
